• Intima Sacra: a Manual of Esoteric Devotion. Compiled by E.M. Forsyth. David Stott, London: 370, Oxford Street, W. 1891. 163 pp.

Information: This book was written as a kind of summary and introduction to the message of the two soul-prophets – known in this age as Anna Kingsford and Edward Maitland – namely, to the recovered New Gospel of Interpretation, the doctrine which they were instrumental in restoring to the West, where the Christ is risen again from the sepulchre of historical tradition, to live and reign in the undying soul of man.

A copy of this book was most gently sent to us by Mr. Brian McAllister, of England, to whom our sincere thanks are due.

Below you have the cover in the original edition, the title page, the Introduction written by the compiler E. M. Forsyth, and the Index of Contents, with the links to the complete Html text.

COMPILER’S INTRODUCTION

THIS manual of Esoteric devotion is compiled from the writings of the late Dr. Anna Kingsford for the use of the large and increasing number of devout persons who, whether able or not to recognise under the orthodox presentation of religion the spiritual truths requisite for the sustenance and satisfaction of the soul, earnestly desire an expression of such truths divested of the veils of history, parable, allegory and symbol by which hitherto they have been concealed rather than revealed, and, where perverted or mutilated, restored to their original proper sense and integrity.

The publication is made with the sanction of Mrs. Kingsford’s literary collaborator and trustee, Mr. Edward Maitland, who assisted in the selection, and drew up expressly for it the following explanatory statement respecting the derivation and character of the teachings contained in it.
